This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.

Course Duration
This course is delivered full-time (20 contact hours per week) across 52 weeks consisting of 36 study weeks (four terms of nine weeks each) and scheduled holiday breaks.
The course duration may vary for students who have been granted credits towards this course (e.g., students having completed any units in a previous course/qualification).
Course Cost
The Tuition Fee of this course is $15,000 payable in four instalments of $3,750 each. The due date of each instalment will appear in your Letter of Offer.
There is an additional non-refundable $500 Enrolment Fee payable at the time of enrolment, and $700 Materials Fee payable for this course (refundable if you decide to cancel your course prior to commencement).

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
A Statement of Attainment will be issued to students who partially complete this course.
All certification documentation will be issued by the Ballarat Academy Pty Ltd trading as Capstone Institute of Australia.
This course is delivered full-time (20 contact hours per week) with a blended delivery mode (face-to-face, online and work placement). Students must complete additional self-directed study at home to achieve the course outcomes. The purpose of the weekly self-directed study is to allow students to review and strengthen their knowledge and complete assessments that don’t require interaction with their assessor.
This course requires you to complete 160 hours of supervised work placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. Our Capstone work placement coordinator will assist you to find work placement. Students must meet the requirements below before starting work placement.

- Provide the information requested by the work placement host venue to support mandatory workforce record-keeping (including entry and maintenance of details in the National Early Childhood Worker Register via the NQA IT System, where required by the approved provider)
This course will be delivered and assessed exclusively in English.
The following entry requirements apply to this course:
Age requirement: All students must be over 18 years of age.
English proficiency requirement: Overseas students must demonstrate at least an Upper Intermediate (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) level of English prior to commencement.
Academic requirement: All students must have completed Australian Year 12 or its overseas equivalent or an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III or higher qualification prior to commencing this course.
Upon successful completion students may elect to undertake CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification or seek an employment outcome.
Employment outcomes from this qualification may include: Early Childhood Educator, Family Day Care Educator, Preschool Assistant, Outside School Hours Care
(OSHC) and Vacation Care Educator – 5-12 years, Nanny or in-home Educator

Students are provided with an assessment manual at the commencement of each unit of competency, along with standard learner materials.
The assessment manual sets out the range and types of assessment tasks that will be used for the unit.
Each unit will comprise of number of assessment tasks which include providing responses to short answer questions; compiling portfolio of evidence of completed work; participating in practical activities such as demonstrations, role-plays and presentations.
